John Godfrey began the first two years of his career in law working as a prosecutor with the Ministry of the Attorney General before joining MacIsaac, Clark & Company in their Nanaimo office in 1978. Since 1986, John Godfrey has practised out of the Victoria office of MacIsaac & Company. A member of the British Columbia Bar and the B.C. Trial Lawyers Association, he services clients throughout British Columbia. John Godfrey’s practice is focused on civil litigation with emphasis in the area of injury claims, and particularly head injury and other serious trauma and death claims.

Since 1981, Lorne Sinclair has been based in Victoria and Duncan and served clients throughout British Columbia and Alberta. Since obtaining his law degree from UBC in 2002 Erik has focused his practice entirely on litigation. Mr. Magraken currently restricts his practice exclusively to plaintiff-only personal injury claims with a particular emphasis on ICBC claims involving orthopaedic injuries and complex soft tissue injuries. David MacLeod’s practice focuses on criminal defence, civil litigation and medical malpractice claims and he has assisted clients throughout British Columbia. He is an avid golfer and runner.


Edith Lau

Raised in Victoria, Edith Lau holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with distinction) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Victoria.

After articling with MacIsaac and Company, Edith was admitted to the Bar of British Columbia in 2009. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia.

Edith speaks fluent Cantonese and has worked and studied overseas. She hopes to use her language and cross-cultural skills to assist clients of various backgrounds.

In her spare time, Edith enjoys badminton, volleyball, travelling and spending time with her family.

Prior to joining MacIsaac & Company, Don acquired extensive experience as a trial lawyer practicing personal injury law, insurance defence litigation, general civil litigation and criminal law (defence and prosecution). Don has represented clients in all levels of Court, including the British Columbia Supreme Court, the British Columbia Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. At MacIsaac & Company, Don has focused his practice and will be practicing primarily in the area of personal injury litigation. In his spare time, Don enjoys playing hockey, fishing and boating with his family.
